Westinghouse Electric says it is not under investigation for accounting practices by the federal government.
The Cranberry Township company’s name has come up in a probe of its parent company, Toshiba Corp., over accounting issues.
“Westinghouse strongly refutes Bloomberg’s recent reporting about being possibly investigated by government agencies,” the company stated on its website.
The Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission have not disclosed details of their investigation into Toshiba. Toshiba says it is cooperating with the probe.
Westinghouse designs and makes nuclear power reactors and plants.
