A Butler woman is facing numerous charges after allegedly forging checks and stealing a large amount of money. These charges are very serious and could result in a long sentence. According to a criminal complaint, 58-year-old Diane McFeaters wrote nearly $22,000 worth of checks to herself from the account of a man she was caring for in her role as manager of Washington Manor Personal Care Home.
The sister of the man asked the police to look into the situation March 31st after noticing the checks showing up on her brother’s bank statements. McFeaters allegedly admitted to the theft during an interview with police April 6th.
McFeaters has been charged with 51 counts of felony forgery as well as one count of felony theft. McFeaters will likely need to make restitution to the man as part of any settlement.
