The Butler Area School Board has chosen to delay a decision on accepting the retirements of some food service employees.
The board removed the requests of nine food service employees from their personnel report before they approved the other moves during a meeting Monday night.
Several board members said it would not be fair to take action on these requests while negotiations continue with the food service union.
Another negotiating session is scheduled for later this week. The board has provided the food service union with a proposal from outside vendor The Nutrition Group. It is up to the union to meet or offer a counter-proposal.
A decision must be made by June 30 for food service next year.
