Butler Township will not be waiving a fee to rezone the land formerly known as Deshon Woods.
According to Township Manager Ed Kirkwood, the township received a letter earlier this month from the company that bought the property at auction back in March for $1.2 million.
That letter requested that the township waive the $2,300 fee required for any rezoning request. The developer would like to make the nearly 25-acre property a space for commercial development.
Township Zoning Officer Jesse Hines said the fee is justifiable since the township engineers need to change zoning maps on paper as well as online.
