The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Chicago White Sox 4-2 last night. Bryse Wilson took the loss, allowing all four Chicago runs in five innings of work. The Pirates managed just five singles in the game and struck out nine times. The two teams play again tonight at 8:10pm. Pre-game on WISR is 7:45pm. Mitch Keller will start for the Bucs tonight.
Infielder Michael Chavis was placed on the 10-day Injured List Tuesday. He injured his right elbow attempting a diving catch last Saturday. Hoy Park was called up to replace him. Park had a walk and scored one of the Pirates runs last night.
Major League teams will be able to expand their rosters today, but only from 26 to 28 instead of the usual 40-man rosters for the final month of the season.
The Toronto Blue Jays have signed former Pirate outfielder Gregory Polanco to a minor league contract. It is the first time since he was 17 years of age that Polanco is not part of the Pirates organization.
