Demolition is continuing on what was known as the AK Steel Plant 2 and county leaders are working on plans to develop that area.
Grant money is being used to contract with an architectural group in Pittsburgh to look at a reuse plan for the property that is near Pullman Park.
County officials say that part of that plan is to examine an urban corridor in that area that extends to the Island neighborhood in the city. That also includes developing workforce and affordable housing.
The land is currently owned by Certa, a Cincinnati-based organization that specializes in former industrial sites.
