A drive is happening today and early next week to help a student in the Seneca Valley School District.
Seven-year-old Jax Ramirez suffers from a serious and extremely rare genetic disorder known as IPEX. It’s an autoimmune disease in which immune cells target healthy tissue.
Jax is in need of a bone marrow transplant in order to help fight the disease.
The Seneca Valley School District is hosting a swab testing drive today at the Haine Middle School to see if there are any matches. It’s open to the public from 4:15 to 7 p.m.
There’s a second drive at the Connoquenessing Valley Elementary School in Zelienople next Monday from 4:15 to 7 p.m.
