The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 9-3 last night. Andrew Heaney allowed seven earned runs on seven hits over four innings in his start. He allowed three home runs. His record fell to 3-7.
The Bucs and Brewers complete their three-game series this afternoon at 2:10pm. Pre-game on WISR begins at 1:45pm. Paul Skenes will start today’s game for the Pirates.
A new addition to the Pirates bullpen made his debut in last night’s game in Milwaukee. After he allowed three runs on four hits in his most recent major league outing Monday, the Pirates optioned Hunter Stratton back to Triple-A Indianapolis Tuesday, and called up Michael Darrell-Hicks. The Pirates had claimed the 27-year old Darrell-Hicks off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels earlier this month. He pitched two scoreless innings last night after Heaney was pulled. It is the third time this season that Stratton has been sent back to Indianapolis.
