State police is expanding their Rapid DNA testing program to local law enforcement agencies.
The program began last year with state police, which used the Rapid DNA technology to process over 350 samples, leading to 163 matches in investigations.
The program will now expand to municipal police to help with cases like homicides, assaults, and burglaries.
State police say the Rapid DNA program can provide DNA profiles from samples in as little as 90 minutes.
