A developer is planning to build a new drive-through coffee shop off New Castle Road in Butler Township.
The nearly 700 square foot Scooters Coffee will be built on about one-third of an acre in the Greenwood plaza between Sheetz and Mattress Firm. Additional traffic and stormwater were already accounted for in the plan that was approved for this development over a decade ago.
The Butler Township Planning Commission unanimously approved the plans that include no interior seating but a drive-through that exceeds township regulations. The main access will be from Greenwood Plaza but a secondary access will be available from the Mattress Firm lot.
As long as the Butler Township Commissioners grant this project final approval later this month, construction on the new Scooters is expected to begin later this year.
