Those interested in celebrating National Trail Day are invited out to McConnells Mill this weekend for a rugged hike.
On Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 the Park Naturalist will lead attendees on a hike along Alpha Pass on the North Country Trail.
During the journey into the National Natural Landmark Slippery Rock Gorge, participants will encounter elevation changes and slippery rocks. The gristmill will also be open and available for a guided tour.
Those planning to attend are advised to wear sturdy footwear and to dress for the weather. Participants should also bring their own water and snacks.
