A Butler woman accused of selling the drugs that killed a man in the City of Butler, waived her preliminary hearing and had all charges held.
In May of this year, police accused 30-year-old Katelyn Messer for selling the drugs that killed 27-year-old Justin Woods of Butler in June 2024. On Monday, Messer waived her preliminary hearing and her case now moves to the Court of Common Pleas.
The charges of voluntary manslaughter, two counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility were all held.
Messer is currently out of jail on nonmonetary bond as she awaits a trial.
