Butler Township is moving to add more parking to the facilities at the Pullman Business Park recreation property.
After hearing from Butler Township Manager Tom Knights at their Monday night meeting, the Township’s Board of Commissioners approved a sales agreement with Certa to purchase eight acres next to the original field for another new parking lot at a cost of $400,000.
This property currently contains a water tower which will be taken down and several concrete piers which will be destroyed. Some elevation work will also need to be completed before around 160 parking spots will be able to be created for use by spectators of events at the fields.
This is in addition to a new parking lot on the other side of the Picklegate bridge that will have 220 spaces along with eight spaces for the large coach buses that many teams use to travel. The paving work for that project is now being put out to bid with bids to be awarded next month and work expected to be completed later this fall.
