For the Penguins, they will have an 84-game schedule next season as the NHL expands its year by two regular-season games. The Pens have their season-opener in Philadelphia, with that game being their first-ever regular-season game in September. The Pens have 15 back-to-back games during the season, which leads the NHL. The Penguins also had the most, with 16 back-to-back games last season. One of the back-to-back scenarios will be an afternoon game New Year’s Eve in Ottawa, followed by a New Year’s Day night game in Pittsburgh.
Their final game of the season will be in New Jersey, Saturday, April 10th. That game will cap a 23-game stretch to close the season against teams from the Eastern Conference. 15 of those games will see them playing division opponents down the stretch.
