State officials were in Butler earlier this week touting the Gaiser Center’s recovery home in the city.
The Secretary of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs visited Ellen’s House on East Brady Street Wednesday. The home exclusively serves women and children, and can house up to 12 people.
State and local officials say the combination of resources allow homes like Ellen’s House to exist and better serve those in recovery.
Licensed homes through the state have gone up by 11 percent since last year.
