A local project has been awarded state funding through the Department of Community and Economic Development.
Slippery Rock Township has been awarded nearly $47,000 as part of the Northwestern Butler County Comprehensive Plan Update.
As Brady, Slippery Rock, and Worth Townships have experienced significant growth in recent years, the three communities believe that development pressure, impacting the quality of life and community character in the townships, requires an update to the plan.
The update will help coordinate local zoning standards to support continued economic development and increase housing options while preserving farmland and rural open spaces.
DCED dispersed a total of over $1.3 million over 22 counties through the Municipal Assistance Program.
