WVU Medicine is investing in a new medical helicopter.
The $10.7 million helicopter will be based out of Westmoreland County, but serve surrounding areas.
A separate entity known as HealthNet Aeromedical Services will own the helicopter and conduct clinical services on the aircraft.
It’s expected to go into service this upcoming spring.
WVU Medicine recently closed on merging with Independence Health System, including Butler Memorial Hospital.
