Butler City Council is continuing the process of determining how state funding will be used to benefit local residents.
Mayor Bob Dandoy informed council members that over $200,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding is available.
The PA Department of Community and Economic Development has directed the majority of funds must be used to benefit residents of low to moderate incomes. In previous years, the City has received CDBG funds for paving, a truck for the fire department, improvements at local parks, and a retaining wall sidewalk project on Mercer Street.
This application is due in October but a public hearing will be held before then for more specific details followed by final approval from Council.
