Butler City Council is nearing the end of a project to improve the look of the downtown Butler area.
At their Thursday night meeting, Council approved a motion to issue payment of nearly $61,000 to CHD Enterprises, Inc as part of the Streetscape Project.
This portion of the project includes ADA compliance for sidewalks on New Castle Street, new trees with improved tree-wells, and trash cans.
The PennDOT Route 8 Signals Project to replace traffic signal poles along Main Street in the city of Butler is also nearly complete with systems testing going on now and the switch from old poles to new poles expected to be complete by the end of June.
