As part of a process that began two years ago, the City of Butler will hold a meeting tonight about acting on feedback to improve efficiency and take advantage of funding opportunities.
Under the Strategic Management Planning Program, Pennsylvania Economy League representatives spent time in Butler last year preparing a five-year Financial and Operational Plan including areas in need of attention as well as opportunities for grants.
The final version of this report was then provided to Council including analyzing current systems of operation such as declining property tax revenue due to the last County reassessment in the 1960s.
Pennsylvania Economy League representatives also provided recommendations such as adding a professional city manager to oversee operations of all city departments.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. City Council is expected to discuss phase two of the program in which members prioritize initiatives and seek available assistance with a 10% local match.
