A number of infrastructure projects are taking steps forward following yesterday’s county commissioner meeting.
The projects will be funded through the Butler County Infrastructure Bank, which secures loans from another financial institution and then buys down interest before distributing the money to local municipalities. This round of projects is just over $9 million.
Jackson Township is seeking three loans at an estimated $5.8 million for projects that are connected to new housing developments. That includes running waterlines to new plans on Pattison Street Extension, Londonderry, and a new development near Zehner School Road. There is also a plan to install a roundabout for a new plan that will go in near Ramsey Road and Route 528.
Harrisville is requesting $730,000 to update pumps and piping at the Route 58 pump station.
Summit Township is looking for $2.5 million for their new sewage project, which will tie their sewage into PA American Water.
There have been five rounds of funding through the Infrastructure Bank since 2018; with over $16 million distributed through the county, official say it has brought back more than $244 million in total investment.
