A couple of local projects are among those receiving approval from the U.S. House of Representatives.
Several Community Project Funding requests made by Congressman Mike Kelly for the 16th Congressional District, which spans from Butler County north, were recently approved as part of legislation passed by a House vote of 213 to 210.
Included in the over $5 million designated for Kelly’s district is $800,000 for the Connoquenessing Volunteer Fire Company to replace an engine as well as $225,000 for the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Company to purchase a brush/utility truck.
The legislation now heads to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
