As lawmakers were passing budget they also passed several more pieces of legislation.
- A bill that would ban telemarketers from spoofing phone numbers when calling was sent to the governor’s desk to be signed into law.
- Governor Josh Shapiro signed a bill into law that would give older adults and incapacitated individuals the option to designate a person to receive notice if they fall behind on property taxes.
- A bill Senator Scott Hutchinson worked on was sent to the governor’s desk that would provide additional tuition reimbursement to Pennsylvania national guard members.
- Finally, bill that would allow police to enforce criminal penalties to tow truck drivers that arrive at the scene of an accident or when car break down unannounced get parties to sign papers unaware of options. Then not disclose fees, itemized billings, and only accept cash payments.
These bills all passed with bipartisan support in the house and senate.
