The Altoona Curve defeated the Erie SeaWolves 11-2 last night. Shortstop and baseball’s top prospect Konnor Griffin had three hits, including his fifth home run with the Curve, and drove in three runs. He is batting .344 for Altoona.
Griffin has had hits in 14 of the 17 games he has played for Altoona. Wednesday was his third three-hit game in that span.
The Curve are 1-1 so far in their six-game series with Erie, which runs through the weekend. Altoona needs one more victory in the series to officially lock up their Eastern League second-half championship.
