Nurses rallied in Harrisburg yesterday calling for safer working conditions in healthcare settings.
The rally happened on the Capitol Building steps where nurses advocated for the Health Care Workplace Violence Prevention Act. The bill has passed the State House and now moves to the Senate.
Part of the bill requires health care organizations to form violence prevention committees, mandate plans to prevent violence, and guarantee support after an incident.
A similar rally was held outside of Butler Memorial Hospital earlier this year, as nurses advocate for safer conditions during their contract negotiations.
