A settlement agreement has been reached between 54 State Attorney Generals and the Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday announced the $7.4 billion settlement that will see Pennsylvania receive $200 million over the next 15 years.
This comes after the Supreme Court rejected a Settlement agreement in July of 2024 that would have seen the Sacklers able to use bankruptcy court for protection against further civil penalties.
The new settlement now needs to be approved by local governments before it can be finalized.
