
The number of traffic deaths continued to decrease last year according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The latest data shows that 1,127 people died in traffic accidents last year—which is the second lowest on record and down 82 from 2023.
Although fatalities in crashes involving impaired driving decreased last year, fatalities at intersections increased.
PennDOT continues to invest in education and enforcement through over $34 million in federal grant funding annually that supports behavioral safety programs.
