The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is optimistic that electrical providers will be able to handle the summer impact on the power grid.
Between the largest electric distribution companies and PJM, which is the region’s electrical grid operator, the PUC says both have completed “extensive preparations” for the summer season.
The summer outlook is forecasting warmer than normal temperatures, which can put a strain on the power grid.
But the PUC says the utilities have continued investing in infrastructure and have planned for potential summertime storms.
