Retired Pittsburgh Riverhounds midfielder Kevin Kerr and owner Tuffy Shallenberger will be honored this week with induction into the team’s Hall of Fame. Kerr began his career in Pittsburgh in 2013 and retired in 2019. He currently is a coach within the Riverhounds academy. Kerr still holds the record for the most goals scored at the team’s home stadium. Shallenberger bought the Riverhounds out of bankruptcy in 2014, and they may not be in Pittsburgh without him. He has led their dramatic expansion and success, and even brought a USL Women’s team to Pittsburgh in 2025 – in the two-time Great Forest division champion Pittsburgh Riveters SC.
They will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame at 7pm Thursday at a dinner on the stadium. They will also be recognized at the team’s match on Saturday against Louisville City FC, which begins at noon.
The Riverhounds will play Wednesday night for the first time in Jacksonville against the expansion Sporting Jax. The match begins at 7:30pm.
