Governor Josh Shapiro is throwing his support behind a local Democratic lawmaker.
Shapiro is endorsing Democratic State Representative Brandon Dukes in the race in the 12th Legislative District.
In a released statement Shapiro announced the endorsement of seven other state Democrats but did not name any other Butler County Democratic candidates.
Dukes defeated Republican Scott Timko in August in a special election and is seeking to win re-election for a full term in office.
