The Slippery Rock School Board approved a balanced budget for the 2026-27 school year that includes a tax increase.
The school board passed a budget of $40.3 million with a 1.9 mill tax increase that will see the average house hold pay an additional $34 per year.
According to school district officials, the tax increase was needed to balance the budget.
Additional personnel and transportation cost savings also led to helping balance the budget.
