Slippery Rock University running back Jay Jay Jordan has been named one of 22 players in all divisions across the nation to be named to the American Football Coaches Association “Good Works” team. Jordan, a senior from Reading, Pennsylvania, becomes the first Slippery Rock football player ever to be named to the Good Works Team, which recognizes student-athletes for their efforts off the field and celebrates their unwavering commitment to community service.
His profile will be featured on ESPN.com and he will be recognized on the field during the Allstate Sugar Bowl, which is also one of the College Football Playoff National Semifinal games, January 15th at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works teams recognizes college football players from all levels for their leadership in community service, academics and athletics.
Jay Jay Jordan was the PSAC-West Offensive Player of the Year last season, carries a better than 3.0 GPA with a major in Sports Management with a minor in Leadership. He also is heavily involved in community service in the Slippery Rock area as well as his hometown of Reading. He also has organized storm aid and traveled to help after major disasters in his family’s native Puerto Rico.
