The amount of revenue the state brought in during May was less than expected.
The Department of Revenue announced that collections totaled $3.2 billion last month.
This is about 2% lower than anticipated, but the fiscal year-to-date collections are still nearly one percent more than anticipated.
Sales tax receipts continue to be a driver of revenue, bringing in $1.3 billion in May which is about $45 million above estimate. Personal income tax revenue was $1.2 billion and corporation tax revenue was $285 million. The Motor License Fund which includes gas taxes collected nearly $358 million last month, $62 million more than anticipated and the yearly total is more than 4% over estimate.
