Two men injured in the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump in 2024 have filed a lawsuit against the federal government.
Attorneys for James Copenhaver, David Dutch, and their families claim the attempted assassination was avoidable and the U.S. Secret Service failed to secure the roof of the AGR.
Both men spent days in the hospital for their injuries, and Copenhaver spent over two months recovering, according to the suit.
The suit references the congressional investigation and the Secret Services own claim that the event was an “operational failure.”
The men are seeking an excess of $150,000, as well as costs, and attorney’s fees.
