A large crowd is expected to start their new year off in chilly fashion at the annual Parker Polar Bear Plunge.
The New Year Day celebration kicks off at 9 a.m. with registration at the Parker City Boat Launch.
There will be a bonfire, food, and drinks available throughout the day to help ring in the new year.
And then at 1 p.m. many will brave the cold temperatures and take a dip into the Allegheny River.
Funds raised will help benefit local firefighters and others in need.
