Over 1,600 students will be receiving their diplomas this weekend from Slippery Rock University.
Commencement for SRU graduate students is set to begin Friday at 6 p.m. inside the Morrow Field House. Also, twenty cadets from the U.S. Army ROTC program will be officially commissioned and take their oaths at a private ceremony on campus Friday.
Then on Saturday, there will be three separate ceremonies to recognize those receiving a bachelor’s degree. SRU President Dr. Karen Riley will provide remarks and confer degrees for the College of Education, College of Liberal Arts and Rock Life at 9 a.m. Saturday followed by the Haverlack College of Business at noon and College of Engineering and Science and College of Health Professions at 3 p.m.
Each graduate is able to bring up to four guests; there will also be live streaming options available on campus and at sru.edu.
