A local company has been chosen to receive state grant money to help with training new school bus drivers.
As part of PennDOT’s School Bus Safety Grant Program, over a million dollars will be spread across 19 counties to train over 400 drivers.
Included in this disbursement is $57,000 that has been awarded to ABC Transit, Incorporated to use for commercial driver’s license (CDL) training, trainee wages, and testing and permit fees.
Money for this program comes from a portion of the $300 fine assessed for violations of the School Bus Stopping Law.
