Late last week, a woman accused of attempting to fight a police officer on a bridge earlier this year pled guilty and then sentenced.
The incident happened on March 10 along the General Butler Bridge.
According to charging documents, 31-year-old Shawndia Devaughn of Pittsburgh was sitting on the bridge with a bottle of lighter fluid.
When the officer helped Devaughn away from the roadway, it’s alleged she then said she was ready to go to jail then put her hand in her jacket and attempted to hit the officer twice and throw something before being taken into custody.
On Thursday, Devaughn pled guilty to simple assault and resisting arrest then sentenced to 5 to 23 months in prison and 12 months of probation.
Devaughn will also have to pay $1,452 in fines, fees, restitution, and cost of prosecution.
