Following the upset win by Democrat Brandon Dukes in the 12th Legislative District, the Speaker of the House in Harrisburg said this will expand their majority.
By flipping the seat, Democrats will now have 103 seats compared to 100 Republicans.
The speaker expected Dukes to be sworn in sometime during September.
Dukes defeated Republican Scott Timko by a razor-thin margin in a special election earlier this week.
