Pennsylvania unemployment numbers have continued to decrease slightly over the past month.
According to the Department of Labor and Industry, the state unemployment rate dropped by two-tenths of a percentage point to 3.9 percent in July. This is the first time the state rate has been below 4.0 since October of 2024.
The PA rate was two-tenths of a percentage point below the U.S. unemployment rate, which was down a tenth of a point from the previous month at 4.1 percent.
The state unemployment rate has declined a half point compared to July 2025 while the U.S. rate is down two-tenths compared to last July.
