The Pennsylvania Independent Fiscal Office has once again reported another quarter of negative growth rate for natural gas production.
According to the IFO, quarter two (April to June) saw a decrease of 1.6 percent growth rate for natural gas production. The strongest annual decline for a quarter since quarter four in 2024.
Current projections for quarter three continue this trend but the IFO says these are early estimates.
There was also a 15 percent decline in new wells from the prior year.
