As oil prices jump, the price at the pump is also going up.
According to AAA’s gas report, the average price for a gallon of gas in Butler is $4.42—which is up three cents compared to last week.
But, there are some gas stations now up to $4.59 in Butler.
The price hike comes as oil prices surge. As of this morning, a barrel of oil is nearing $100.
That follows attacks on Iranian oil ships.
The average gas price across western Pennsylvania as a whole decreased by two cents to reach $4.31. The most affordable average price for gas in the area can be found in Sharon at $4.06, while the most expensive is in Uniontown at $4.43.
The average national gas price increased by seven cents over the past week to reach $4.15 with the highest price ever for this time of year. Gasoline demand decreased last week, while the price of oil jumped by nearly $10 to over $91 a barrel as the conflict with Iran in the Strait of Hormuz continues to strain the global oil supply.
