Butler County Commissioners are recognizing today as Suicide Awareness and Prevention Day.
The commissioners welcomed representatives of the Butler County Suicide Coalition at their public meeting yesterday.
The coalition also held a remembrance rally at Diamond Park last evening honoring the lives of those lost to suicide.
The group is also hosting a number of other events this month to coincide with September being Suicide Prevention Month.
According to the coalition, suicide is the number one leading cause of death for those 10 to 14 in Pennsylvania.
