PIHL Hockey:
–Canon-McMillan defeated Butler 4-1 in the Class 1A quarterfinals. The Golden Tornado’s season ends at 15-5-1. Anthony Trombatt scored the lone goal.
Three representatives of the Butler program will participate in their amateur club team’s national playoffs. Seniors Anthony Trombatt and Seamus Griffith will be heading to West Chester for the 18-U Tier 2 tournament. They are part of the Armstrong Arrows team. Freshman Marty Parker will be heading to Dallas, Texas for the 14-U Tier 2 tournament playing as part of the South Pittsburgh Rebellion. Both tournaments run March 25th-29th.
In the Class 3A quarterfinals: Pine-Richland defeated North Allegheny 6-3. The Rams will meet Seneca Valley in the semifinals Monday. That game will be played at the RMU Island Complex. Face-off is 7:15pm.
