Central Electric Cooperative members are asked to conserve energy today.
A Peak Alert is in effect for all CEC customers Monday until 6 p.m. because of today’s hot and humid weather. You’re asked to conserve energy by turning off all non-essential electric items especially lighting, dehumidifiers, pool pumps and setting your air conditioner to a minimum of 78 degrees.
CEC officials say if the co-op can reduce electricity purchased during high-demand periods, it helps keep energy costs stable for all members.
The cooperative serves a portion of Butler County.
