Several local projects have been awarded state funding through the Department of Community and Economic Development.
Steamfitters Local 449 in Jackson Township will receive $2 million for the construction of a new training facility designed to equip workers with expertise to support chiller-related projects.
Iron Mountain Geothermal in Cherry Township has been awarded $1.25 million to expand a cooling system with additional pumping infrastructure, including new lake pumps, heat exchangers, and piping to improve data center efficiency and capacity.
Standard Bent Glass Defense in East Butler Borough will use $1 million for roof replacement, construction of a ballistics testing laboratory, installation of a high-capacity kiln, energy efficiency upgrades, and expansion of parking and site capacity.
A Jackson Township Lake Conservation project includes $250,000 to support feasibility work, permitting, demolition of deteriorated structures, roadway paving, parking upgrades, and construction of an amphitheater, concession/restroom facilities, storage building, and surrounding trail network.
Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
