A Pittsburgh man has been accused of fraud after he allegedly stole over $6,000 from a woman in Cranberry Township.
On May 22, the victim reported to police 35-year-old Willians Pestana, who was paid to clean the victim’s home, stole $6,341.
The money was used to pay companies such as Amazon, Peoples Gas, Duquesne Light, and Lendbuzz Auto loans. Banking records show the accounts used to pay these bills were under Pestana name.
The victim claims Pestana was able to commit the fraud by using the routing and account numbers on checks to transfer money into his account.
Pestana has been charged with theft by unlawful taking, conspiracy, and possession of an instrument with intent to commit a crime.
Pestana is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
