Police say a man is dead and a woman is hospitalized in critical condition after a weekend shooting in Mercer County.
William Emmett, 45, of Greenville, was killed following the Sunday evening shooting in Sharon, about a block from the Sharon Regional Hospital. Police say Emmett was the administrative director of the emergency room at Sharon Regional.
His wife, Amy Emmett, underwent surgery yesterday at a hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.
Police say the pair fought over a handgun and each suffered multiple gunshot wounds. It’s unclear what led up to the shooting but it appears to be an isolated domestic dispute.
