A man connected to a 2024 Butler City drug bust was the final person to be sentenced last week.
On Thursday, 43-year-old Benjamin Mauthe was the last co-defendant out of four others to plead guilty and be sentenced.
41-year-old Clint Nagle and 36-year-old Kaitlyn Dempsey received prison sentences, while a fourth person pled guilty to a misdemeanor and received probation.
According to previous reporting by our newsroom, Nagle attempted to acquire crystal methamphetamine from a prisoner over a prison phone and police were tipped off that Dempsey was selling the drugs that were now at Mauthe’s home. The August 2024 drug bust found 50 grams of methamphetamines, psychedelic drugs, and THC wax.
Mauthe pled guilty to two counts of Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver and several smaller drug charges. He was sentenced to 9 to 23 months and 15 days and 24 months of probation.
Mauthe will also have to complete 50 hours of community service and pay $4,225 in fines, fees, restitution, and cost of prosecution.
