Moniteau School Board has approved a preliminary budget that will raise the tax rate by four mills but still operate at a deficit.
At their Monday night meeting, board members approved a preliminary budget that raises the mills total from 101.38 to 105.38. It’s estimated this increase will bring in over $280,000 in revenue.
If the budget is finalized the school district would still be operating at a deficit of $2.3 million. The total budget would $27.1 million.
The budget is currently posted on the district website and could be finalized at the June 15 board meeting.
